Main Street, the most common street name in the United States is currently being used over 10,000 times. It’s also one of my favorite streets to visit. Main street is often where you’ll find a concentration of local restaurants, shops, galleries, local art shows, and holiday festivals. Each “Main Street” with its own personality of the town it resides in. Maggie Valley not only has its own main street, (Socco Road) but is central to quite a few others in varied driving distances. Historic Waynesville’s is just down the road and is a fun place to visit for it’s shops and restaurants. Silva, Bryson City, Dillsboro, and Cherokee are just a few more small towns to explore. For a more expansive choice, and more of a city experience, downtown Asheville, Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge are worth the drive.
