Exploring Great Smoky Mountains National Park from High Hopes Cabin

High Hopes Cabin sits just 30 minutes from the eastern entrances of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park—America’s most visited national park with free admission. Guests can quickly access iconic trailheads, historic structures in Cataloochee Valley, and panoramic overlooks.
Local Host Tip: Visit early in the morning during peak fall or spring months to enjoy trailheads like Waterrock Knob and Deep Creek Waterfalls with minimal traffic.

 

Driving Blue Ridge Parkway is easy with an entrance just 6 miles away. A very scenic drive with plenty of easy access trails and waterfalls.

Clingmans Dome is now known as Kuwohi. Kuwohi is on the border of North Carolina and Tennessee offers a short hike to magnificent 360 degree mountain views.

Waterfall Hikes in Pisgah National Forest & Blue Ridge Parkway

Originally part of the historic Biltmore Estate, Pisgah National Forest hosts some of Western North Carolina’s finest waterfalls. Located an easy day trip from Maggie Valley, must-see cascades include Looking Glass Falls (roadside access), Moore Cove Falls (easy 1.5-mile walk), and Sliding Rock (natural water slide). High Hopes Cabin provides convenient access to the nearby Blue Ridge Parkway entrance for scenic mountain driving year-round.
